Frequently asked questions

Straight answers for studios and for Pros — no small print theatrics. Can't find it? Contact FLEX.

What is FLEX Pro?

FLEX Pro is a marketplace connecting dance studios with performers, choreographers, creatives and specialist teachers available for workshops, masterclasses and other studio opportunities.

Browse profiles, explore professional credits, compare teaching styles and send an enquiry directly through FLEX.

Is this instant booking?

Not yet. FLEX Pro launches as an enquiry service.

Choose a Pro, share your dates and tell them what you have in mind. They will respond to discuss availability, fees and the next steps.

FLEX does not currently handle deposits, contracts, travel arrangements or confirmed bookings.

What does FLEX cost for studios?

Nothing.

Searching the marketplace, exploring profiles and sending enquiries are free for studios. Pros pay a subscription to publish and maintain their profiles.

Are FLEX Pros vetted?

FLEX Pros are not formally vetted, employed or represented by FLEX.

However, every profile receives a human review before publication. Our team has professional performance and teaching experience, so we check that profiles are complete, relevant, credible and presented honestly.

We may request changes or evidence, refuse publication, or remove a profile that appears misleading, inappropriate or below our platform standards.

This initial review is not a substitute for your studio’s own safeguarding and recruitment checks.

What does “FLEX Reviewed” mean?

FLEX Reviewed is our higher level of profile verification.

It means a member of the FLEX team has completed additional checks on the Pro’s identity and key profile information. The Pro has also completed at least one booking connected through FLEX and received feedback from a verified studio.

A Pro without the badge may simply be new to FLEX, have no completed FLEX bookings yet or still be waiting for additional information to be checked. It does not automatically mean they are less experienced or unsuitable.

FLEX Reviewed provides stronger evidence that the person is genuine, professionally active and accurately represented. It is not a guarantee of teaching quality or suitability for every studio.

Is all profile information verified?

No. Unless something is specifically marked as verified, the information has been supplied by the Pro.

Pros are responsible for accurately representing their identity, credits, experience, qualifications, DBS status and insurance. FLEX may request evidence and investigate concerns, but studios should always complete their own checks before confirming a booking.

What checks should my studio make?

The checks required will depend on your organisation, students and safeguarding policies.

They may include:

  • Identity
  • References
  • Professional credits
  • Teaching experience
  • DBS status
  • Public liability insurance
  • Qualifications
  • Safeguarding training
  • Right to work
  • Music and choreography permissions
  • Travel and accommodation requirements
How do ratings and reviews work?

Only verified studios connected to a FLEX enquiry and confirmed session can leave a verified review.

Studios can share feedback on teaching, communication, professionalism, preparation, student engagement and their overall experience.

Pros without reviews are shown as New to FLEX. Once a Pro has enough verified feedback, their average rating and reviews will appear on their profile.

Who sees my enquiry?

Your enquiry is sent to the Pro and logged securely by FLEX so we can monitor delivery, prevent misuse and provide support if something goes wrong.

Personal contact details are protected from public display, and anti-spam controls are used across the platform.

Who handles fees, contracts and cancellations?

The studio and Pro agree fees, payment terms, contracts, cancellation arrangements, travel and accommodation directly.

FLEX provides the introduction and enquiry service but is not currently a party to the final agreement.

We recommend putting every agreement in writing before confirming the session.

Does appearing in a show mean a Pro can teach its choreography?

Not automatically.

A professional credit shows that the Pro worked on or appeared in a production. It does not necessarily give them permission to reproduce protected choreography, scripts, branding or other production material.

Studios and Pros are responsible for securing any music, choreography and performance permissions required for a workshop.

What if I have concerns about a Pro?

Use the Report this profile option or contact the FLEX team.

We may request supporting information, speak to the studio or Pro, investigate the concern and take action under our platform standards.

For urgent safeguarding concerns, follow your organisation’s safeguarding procedure and contact the appropriate authorities where necessary.

Still stuck? Contact the FLEX team and we'll help.
